  1. Wow, that was not accurate view of last night in my opinion... someone ought to put on channel 8 where it showed the person who did the study saying point blank that yes it would cost us more. It is crazy what this withdrawal group is asking this town to do. Spend more, to get less, and STILL NOT HAVE CONTROL. It was said well last night, our *local control* is only over K-5 and that is only over cutting the budget so that people in town will support the budget. Lets not continue to hurt our littlest members of the community over a few peoples prejudice against Kennebunk.

  5. I do agree with regarding the withdrawal, but I do not think that it is necessary to personally attack Diane Robbins. Comments like that serve no purpose.

  6. There should be legal action against the school board members from Arundel for not performing there civic duty the only reason they got on this board was to protect a second rate private school they should ashamed of themselves

  7. I agree that we shouldn't slam people personally on this site.

The one thing I will say is that I believe that some of the board members that we "elected" have absolutely mis-led the public and done it in public meetings...they are bound to get called out on that from time to time...its part of being a public figure...

I didn't see the comment made before about Diane it looks like it has been taken off...which is good. But she absolutely has been misleading in meetings and stated numerous times that we have to consider the high school renovation as a done deal even though it is still in planning process and has no where near come ready for a vote, and in the same breath told us we cannot consider the cost sharing agreement that is on the table right now(...even though it is agreed upon and is waiting for a vote) because it hasn't been voted on....

seems to me that she wants it both ways, and wants everything to validate getting out of the district even though it makes NO financial sense, NO educational sense, and NO logical sense.... I guess I wish our representatives would either come clean about their agendas, or be open to the possibility that maybe we have a good thing going, and that it is good for our kids, and our town and start representing the board as a board member not an Arundel separatist.

    1. Anyone who thinks that Diane *doesn't* have an agenda has been living under a rock. She gunned for that position specifically to block choice, and we know that because of her presence ad nauseum anywhere there is a microphone at a public meeting.

How much longer until her term expires?

  8. This boils down to David Lane and Jon Renells hatred for Kennebunk when they were on the school board and part of the Tams negotiations. Initially Kennebunk said they could not take Arundel kids and then later said yes but Jon and David snubbed them and said we were too far along with Tams even though nothing was signed. This could have been avoided long ago if their egos didn't come into play. FACT

Diane is out of her league on a school board. She got on the board solely to drive the withdrawal and fan the "taxes" will go up flames. Of course now the numbers show otherwise and she can't save face.

Pleva and Sinnott-Curran are pro withdrawal.

Voters should wake up to who is on the board for Arundel as they don't have the interest of education at the top of their list. 100% self serving
