Love that there's an agenda; too bad the committee didn't bother meeting. If this is what we can expect from a group that was gung-ho to get this show on the road, perhaps we don't have to be overly concerned about withdrawal.
ReplyDeleteThe deadline for plan submission is end of July, folks. There is a very detailed list of criteria that needs to be examined, and it needs to be determined if those criteria can be met, and a thorough and detailed plan for each point of criteria needs to be developed.
It doesn't happen at cancelled meetings. So? What's the excuse?
This committee consists of one member of the general public (Jack Turcotte), one member of the group filing the petition (Jon Renell), one member of the municipal officers (Thomas Danylik) and one member of the RSU 21 Board of School Directors representing Arundel (Diane Robbins).
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should all contact members of the team and request that the meeting minutes be posted promptly after each meeting, any delays or meeting cancellations are posted and commented to the public at arundelmaine.org web site.
This process is important to the town's people of Arundel and the more proactive communication the better for all.
Great point - I would also request that minutes that are typed are *thorough*, not abbreviated clips of conversations. It would actually be nice if they were streamed online, like town meetings are in Kennebunk. That way people who can't make the meeting can see it in its entirety, and know everything that was discussed.

The Town of Arundel Withdrawal Committee will meet on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7 PM to elect a chair and discuss the protocol and procedures for the meetings.
This meeting will be held in Room A106 at Kennebunk Elementary School.
