Good afternoon-
This notice is to inform you of two meetings that will be taking place in the
next few days as the RSU Board develops a revised budget proposal for
consideration by the voters.
On Thursday, May 26 at 7:30 a.m., the Finance Committee will meet to discuss
various strategies for adjusting the budget. This meeting will take place in
room A102 at Kennebunk Elementary School.
On Friday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m., the Board of School Directors will hold a
Special Meeting to consider the Finance Committee's ideas and to determine next
steps in the budget reconsideration process. This meeting will also take place
in room A102 at Kennebunk Elementary School. Because State Law requires the
Board to post budget warrants 14 days prior to a referendum vote, it is
necessary for the Board to meet on this date if it intends to hold a second
budget vote on the same day as the statewide referendum (June 14).
State Law also requires the Board to hold another District Budget Meeting - such
as the one held in the Kennebunk High School gymnasium on May 10 - prior to the
second budget referendum. We will notify you of the date, time, and location of
that meeting once the Board decides how it will proceed with the second budget
validation process.
