On Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 7 PM in the ML Day School Gymnasium there will be a PUBLIC HEARING to discuss the merits of the proposed Withdrawal Agreement.
This public hearing will be to discuss the document only, per state statute.
A public hearing will be held in October, per state statute, to present Planning Decisions findings on the financial impact analysis.

What does that mean, 'discuss the document only, per Maine statute'? Does that mean we only talk about what's written, and not the fact that this entire process has been bungled from the get-go?
ReplyDeleteArundel voters were conned into voting for a 'study'. It was advertised as a 'study', and not proceedings to withdraw.
I'm sure those crafty folks that spoon-fed this garbage to the willing followers are hoping that this is a low-turnout hearing with little to no discussion. I hope that it is the opposite; the idea that we can only discuss 'the document', and not the fact that 'the document' is very vague and lacks any significant detail, or any details beyond the first year of hypothetical withdrawal should concern ALL Arundel voters.
Time for some new blood on the town boards and councils. The status quo of the 'Angry 200' is starting to become very redundant.
How much will our taxes go up if the withdrawal is successful? I just got my tax bill and there's been yet *another* increase. I thought we were going to be sheltered from that if we didn't buy out the contract.
What say you, math gurus?
It certainly will be interesting how they manage to put on positive spin on this. I'm hearing about many upset people who fell for the whole "its a study to get numbers" bs.
DeleteSeems to me they have nothing to say because it will only bury them further.
This is also a very good post which I really enjoyed reading. It is not every day that I have the possibility to see something like this.. Hearing Loss
