    1. Indeed. All of the Arundel Board members who were party to the withdrawal push should be asked to resign immediately. They did not represent the best interests of all children in the distirct; heck, they didn't represent the best interests of *any* children.

It was a political move, and whatever they were promised for pushing this matter now can't be brought up for another two years. With any luck, none of them will be on the Board by then.

Now, it's time to re-negotiate the cost-sharing formula so that it is more equitable for all three towns.

    2. NOW it time to re-negotiate cost sharing????? You think for a second that big K with its ever increasing school renovation budget will vote to pay more. Why? The little town with only 3 votes can really pitch in and maybe we can add another 10 mil to the number. If they don't want to, it doesn't matter--we can out vote them..hahaha, We are alll fools!!

    3. Yes, now it's time. Are you so blind to your political hackery that you're unaware that an offer is already on the table?

    4. anon at 6:03:00,

Do you understand basic economic facts? Economy of scale.

Guess what? Some years MLDay will get money put into it, other years it will be other buildings. That's how a three community school district works. And spreading costs over three towns means a lower cost overall.

Did you notice that Kennebunk and Kennebunkport have more educated populace than around? And thier Town demographics reflect that in terms of higher incomes and property values. Stop trying to play the Hatfield's and McCoy values but keeping Arundel as a backwoods town.

TAMS was a band-aid fix and it's time to move on. We have MSK and no longer need TAMS for a place to send kids for school. It's as simple as that.

This tired idea that Kennebunk is out to get us mentality is the most ridiculus line of reasoning I've ever heard. They don't want to pay more taxes either so their absolutely is vested interest for all parties to get the best bang for the buck possible.

By your team's method, you want cheap, cheap, cheap. I don't want to go back to the days of the paint peeling heap that MLDay was before we joined RSU21.

We pay less and are part of a higher performing school system. What part of better deal do you not understand?

I'm hopeful that with well organized opposition now, any attempts at repeating this withdrawal shananagins will get trounced. It was slow to form, but obviously as more people understood they were being lied too, the decision to withdraw was determined to be a lousy deal and LOST in the election. L-O-S-T, that's what your team is.

  5. How about we try bonding together to create a great school system that works for all three towns, and works for our kids, and STILL saves us tax dollars and STOP fighting with each other.

Take all that energy toward creating a new Arundel that is attractive to business and make this the place that all of us want to be. Good Education, a small rural town with roots in Agriculture, a great historical society, and a great town.

It can happen if we all stop beating each other up......OR we can continue to beat a dead horse, and have it rear up and kick us in the face...our choice I guess.... I am going to Opt for the First solution.....

    1. Are you kidding? Do you think Team Withdrawal who flat out lied to achieve their TAMS agenda can ever be trusted?

They need to be run out of town. I'm a realist, they are snakes and need to be stomped.

    2. That won't accomplish anything, I really would like if we could move on, I agree however that when our school board member outright lies 3 times....corrected by Tom Danylik...and still refused to tell the truth...perhaps her time should be up....

But all in all, we need to start healing and moving forward. Don't turn into the anger herd that the withdrawal became..

    3. The withdrawal lunatics will come back for round two. Of course now they can't run roughshod again as their is well developed team of opposition that wasn't present when this all started.

It's not anger, it's reality that they need to be refuted early and often. This kindler/gentler thing would be great if we were dealing with rational people. They aren't rational and the war to save our district with better schools at lowre cost needs to be defended.

I'm telling you right now, DO NOT turn your back to them. You've seen how low they will stoop and I know they will put the Town through hell again.

    4. Anon 8:36 - they can't even bring up the subject for two years, and by that time, most of them shouldn't be on the board. The goal now is to re-negotiate an equitable cost-sharing formula, and systematically remove those in power that pushed for this withdrawal.

    5. That won't stop these clowns from running another petition through to start the withdrawal process all over again. Two years from now plan on Jon Renell and David Lane to be out gathering signatures again.

    6. I agree with AnonymousWednesday, November 7, 2012 2:55:00 PM EST. The voters spoke, and everyone needs to move on and come together as one community. By ending the rift in town is actively participating in ending it. All of this is all too fresh in everyone's mind. Take a moment and breath. This town has a lot of passion, let's make the rift stop.

  6. I would hope that at this point our town can start to heal and start actually trying to be part of the district instead of ripping it apart. In a strong effort to do that we have already voted down many things that could have saved Arundel money. It's time to start looking out for our town as PART of the rsu and make it work for us.

I sicerely hope that people can start doing that. TAMS is still an option, in a few years MSK will be an option and we can stop pitting one school and one town against another and get on with the business of educating our kids.... Please withdrawal group... Lets move on we all have choice now
